The Commissioner is meeting with council leaders across Lancashire ahead of setting the priorities for his Police and Crime Plan. The plan is a strategic document which sets the direction for Lancashire Constabulary and against which the Commissioner will hold the Chief Constable to account over the next four years.

Mr Grunshaw and and Mr Bradley discussed how anti-social behaviour has previously been an issue in the area, with Mr Bradley praising the impact of Lancashire Police’s Operation Centurion which has delivered additional hotspot foot patrols in the town centre.

In the twelve months following the launch of Op Centurion in July 2023, Lancashire Police delivered 3,122 additional policing hours with officers walking the beat, 1,260 stakeholder visits engaging with local businesses and other organisations and 511 stop checks in Chorley Town Centre alone. This is on top of the wider work of Op Centurion which targets ASB across the county.

Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw said:

“Discussions in Chorley were extremely positive, and I am pleased to hear how Op Centurion has made a significant difference in the town centre.

“Following my election, I have made it a priority to meet with council leaders across Lancashire to ensure that local issues and voices are being heard. We know there is always more to do, but I am encouraged to hear how enthusiastic partners across Chorley are to work together to keep local communities safe.

“As the public’s voice in policing, it is important that my Police and Crime Plan priorities reflect the issues that matter most to Lancashire residents. I will continue to work closely with local leaders and with the Constabulary to ensure that the people of Lancashire get the policing service they deserve.”
