The service offer free advice and support to those living in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse, stalking and child sexual exploitation.

The visit took place as part of the White Ribbon 16 Days of Action, a global campaign challenging misogyny and harmful attitudes that fuel violence against women and girls. This year, FCWA is leading an initiative to address the growing influence of the ‘manosphere’ among young people.

The FCWA campaign is supported by funding from the Commissioner’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Fund, which has invested a total of £177,000 into 38 intervention projects that aim to prevent violence, support survivors, and create safer environments for women and girls across Lancashire.

Following the visit, Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw said:

“Preventing violence against women and girls is a Police and Crime Plan priority, and I’m pleased to be able to support local projects and organisations tackling this issue in our communities.

“FCWA provide a lifeline for women across the Fylde Coast, whether that be through supportive workshops or providing refuge to vulnerable women.

“The White Ribbon campaign is a powerful opportunity to unite and show our shared commitment to ending VAWG. As Commissioner, I will continue to raise awareness and champion this cause whenever possible.”
