During the visit, Commissioner Grunshaw and local PCSOs discussed daily challenges including anti-social behaviour, retail crime, and other community concerns. The Commissioner emphasised his commitment to supporting officers and ensuring they have the necessary resources to effectively tackle local issues.

PCC Grunshaw highlighted his ongoing efforts to rebuild neighbourhood policing, aiming to increase visible patrols and enhance public confidence in the police force.

Speaking after the visit, the Commissioner said:

“Since becoming Commissioner I have reinforced the importance of visible, proactive policing that addresses the priorities of our communities. The dedication and hard work of our local officers are crucial in meeting the needs of the public, dealing with local issues and keeping people safe.

“My role as Commissioner is to both scrutinise and support our police force and ensure they have the tools and resources needed to perform their duties effectively. Rebuilding neighbourhood policing is a key part of this, and I am committed to seeing more officers on the streets, engaging with the community, and preventing crime.

“As the public’s voice in policing, I will continue to lobby for fair funding and ensure that every penny spent is used to deliver the best possible service for the people of Lancashire. ”
