It brings together National Highways, Lancashire Constabulary, the DVLA, and others, whilst here in Lancashire building on the enforcement that happens all year round from major motorway routes to rural roads and everywhere in between.

During the visit the Commissioner also joined officers out on patrol on the local motorway network, as officers pull over vehicles and escort them to be checked and drivers spoken to.

“This kind of targeted, intelligence led policing is exactly what is needed to make our roads safer and target dangerous drivers who put other road users at risk.

“The message is clear, if you recklessly put yourself or others at risk, whether on our motorways, town, or country roads, you’ll be stopped and feel the full force of the law.

“Op Vertebrae is a clear example of partnership working, delivering results that the public want to see, making the best use of resources to ultimately, make Lancashire a safer place. ”
