Commissioner Snowden said: “It’s been really positive to hear how funding secured by my office is helping to ensure that victims have access to the support they need and deserve. It has been truly inspiring to meet staff, volunteers, and service users and to hear how the support available helps to re-build lives.

“Tackling domestic abuse and sexual violence is a priority in my police and crime plan and I work closely with the Constabulary to ensure that the resources are in place to target offenders and to bring them to justice.

“It is equally important that victims of these types of crime have access to specialist support when they need it and I fund services across Lancashire to ensure that anyone affected can get the help they deserve.”

Amanda Elwen, chair and founder of the Emily Davison Centre added: “It’s been great to welcome Andrew to tell him more about our work to support people affected domestic abuse or sexual violence.

“We understand how difficult it can be for people to open up and talk about what has happened to them but our team of experts is here to support anyone affected.
